Salcombe

Salcombe

What an exceptional place Salcombe is!  Our lifestyle is relaxed yet thriving. Even during the winter when sea spray, wind and rain are lashing the town, it still is a magical place to be.  Summertime there is a buzz in the air, a different atmosphere, more people, more boats, busy – old friends coming back to spend time in Salcombe.

Fore Street in Salcombe is open all year round, we are a proper working town, yes we do have a few fashion outlets, but we also have butcher, baker, not at the moment a candle stick maker, but  grocer, newsagents  and fishmonger!

So, what to do when you come and see us, too much choice but a few ideas are…Walk the coastal path, sail in the estuary, try paddleboarding, kayaking, surfing, crabbing off the quay…its all on your doorstep alongside more relaxing pursuits such as great pub and restaurant food, local arts and crafts, sunbathing in the warm sun, walking barefoot in the sand, ordering fresh lobster from the fishermen.  Best of all, eating a delicious hot Bake House pasty on a bench overlooking all the above activities happening right before your eyes!
